Well this is an additional surprise. ABC News who got lambasted a few years ago by the public and especially UFOlogists for a sloppy report about UFOs has followed up on the latest sighting in China where a UFO was seen and well photographed it appears. This story focuses on China’s official government’s announcement that they will be investigating the situation to see if it’s a real UFO sighting or an elaborate hoax. Well this is more like it. Earthfiles.com has new photos from different perspectives of the UFO reported over that airport in China. This is making this particular UFO case more interesting as the photos are clearer than usual and from different locations gives us the data that this isn’t a hoax but an event where an unusual aerial object appeared, a structured object and multiple witnesses gathered and presented data.

The still images look interesting but the accompanying video looks like a CGI effect so take this story with a grain of salt until further investigation is complete.

Update on the UFO situation

Well, lots has been going on in the UFO field. Mostly more reports and surprisingly large amounts of sightings from the British Commonwealth nations. Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia have reports pouring in on a daily basis. Considering the British Ministry of Defense has stated that UFOs are no threat, mirroring what the United States has said for decades, it’s a bother that people have no where to turn officially to voice their concerns about UFOs.

The other day NASA had a press conference regarding their plans for searching for extraterrestrial life. They’ve not updated their website as of this posting regarding the conference so tabloid papers like The Sun from the UK posted articles claiming that the U.S. has found evidence of life on Mars. That story states life in microbial form is evident but no official announcement from NASA has been issued. I doubt very highly, almost certainly that the U.S. will never admit to extraterrestrial life in any form any time soon nor will it’s allies nor enemies.

I’ve mentioned this anomaly before. Legend has it that the U.S. is behind a global conspiracy to conceal the existence of extraterrestrials on Earth but that doesn’t excuse why our enemies wouldn’t make the declaration that they do exist. We know for a fact that the issue of UFOs has and still is of super top secret concern for the U.S. and our so called enemy states like Iran, China, Venezuela which all have daily UFO reports coming in have yet to post any disclosures. That’s curious in that they know it would upset the apple cart of U.S. policy and force the U.S. government’s hand in addressing the issue.

Curiouser and curiouser.

So at present the private sector and independent news services have to take the bulk of public concerns and collect UFO reports and data. This helps in that significant reports end up in that realm and not hidden behind government screens. That’s the wild card right there. At any given moment a new and astounding report can come through and go viral on the web and gum up the works.

As attractive as these accounts may be we still need to do the science, the raw investigation and not fall prey to sensationalism. My first rule of UFO investigation is “Never get excited about a UFO report.”. That keeps one’s analysis on an even keel and not subject to foolhardy steps.

So at best, keep an eye out for news reports and participate with the investigators.

There is one danger, a growing danger, the privatization of UFOlogy wherein the best reports get bought up and sequestered thus depriving the public of valuable data.

In these times of global upheaval we need all the data we can get.

UFO SIGHTINGS OVER CLEVELAND, OHIO….. 2010

Well more interesting UFO news is abuzz and that’s regarding a series of sightings in Cleveland, Ohio that have gone on now at a regular basis as of this report for nine nights around the same time in the evening about 7-7:30 pm their time.

Blogs and videos and of course news services and YouTube are carrying video and reports of these sightings that consist of a series of lights and a regular pattern and appearance.

Exciting yes, but one must let cooler heads prevail and as one can see in the news report above, the proper procedure that has been taken by the news crew. They contact the witnesses via the reports, they contact the authorities to get their responses, not having received an explanation the incidents remain as UFO reports.

That simple.

See that’s what this is all about. People witness something in the sky and ponder what it is. They ask the authorities and the authorities are by law suppose to provide the citizens with an answer. If the authorities don’t know, it’s up to them to engage in an investigation as they are stewards of our resources.

This is how things were at the beginning of the UFO era in the 1940’s when people around the nation were wondering if the then termed “flying saucers” were vehicles or weapons from a foreign power. Mind you it was our own government that put forth the proposal, in public and on the news, that they might be of interplanetary, extraterrestrial origin. In those days government answered to the people like you see it being done in this story. Simple civic procedure, all sides teaming up to investigate a phenomena.

That’s how it’s supposed to be.

So we’ll all have to sit back and keep an eye as to what unfolds and what the source of these sightings turn out to be. With their frequency it’s only a matter of time before one or more of us comes up with enough clear data to make a conclusion.
