From Chariots of the Gods, to Roswell, the Hills and just all of it, obviously I think that you have hit on the one uniting concept, which is the fact that extraterrestrials just don’t want to be out in the open. I believe in Intelligent Design but I also believe in “Intelligent Maintenance.” That is what I think is really going on here. From the ancient Greeks who had their whimsical “gods” and their genetic manipulation of creatures great and small and the ancient Egyptians who demanded tribute, monument and worship and later spread their influence to South and North America with their rituals and temples. Our planet resting just so in space, perfectly aligned with the sun and a satellite of the right degree and distance, our moon, stabilizing our orbit and seasons…well, a symbiotic relationship, and in the greater sense perhaps God’s plan, as one can not exist without the other. They, the managers of our existence and we, the worker bees, ever producing and they appropriating what they need in finished product and raw materials. But like the bird who sits atop the alligator but is not eaten, we are free to make choices and go to and fro, so while at times they may seem malevolent, by and large we are left to our own devices and self determination and in all likelihood would not be able to exist here without them, certainly not at the level of comfort that we enjoy in our modern world. So where are they? In government, in industry, in the production of the air that we breath, the food that we eat and the benign change of seasons that we enjoy. But hidden, why? Well perhaps because to them we are a little less, or perhaps because a good manager doesn’t fraternize with the help. So they are everywhere and they are no where and they always have been and always will be and this is the conclusion that I have come to in my heart of hearts but alas, like Sisyphus I fear that I will not live to see that boulder stay atop the mountain and savor that moment when I could shout Eureka! I was right. Such is life but still I am grateful to our unseen friends for my life and the God who may have sent them to us so that we might simply, be.
